The Zilliqa platform is designed by researchers from the National University of Singapore to create a solution to the scalability problems of financial algorithms and decentralized applications in blockchain technology. Zilliqa will use new ‘Sharding’ technology that can process speeds up to 4000 tx/s, which is essentially auto-splitting network nodes into ‘shards’. Transaction speeds will linearly increase as the network expands without reducing the level of decentralization. The technology utilizes PoW framework solely for establishing mining connections not transaction consensus which optimizes the energy consumption required for network sustainability. The blockchain transaction history is only required to be saved on the last state rather than entire blockchain and is investing in cloud network for smart contract accessibility.
